Today, the Turks and Caicos Islands Telecommunications Commission (the “Commission”)released its Fixed Services Price Regulation Review Decision in which it decided to eliminate the vast majority of the pricing regulations currently applied to LIME's fixed telecom services. As a result, LIME will now have the flexibility to set prices for most of its existing fixed services in response to market pressures as well as introduce new fixed services and service bundles without seeking advance approval from the Commission.

Today, the Turks and Caicos Islands Telecommunications Commission (the “Commission”) released its Telecommunications Decision 2013 – 2 on the assignment of prime 700 MHz spectrum licences in which it awarded the two available licences to Digicel and Islandcom.

The Turks and Caicos Telecommunications Commission is hosting a three (3) day workshop scheduled to take place from January 9th to 11th, 2012, Providenciales.
The Commission and its members have embarked on an exciting start for the year, commencing with a workshop with Lauraisa Associates Limited, UK. This Workshop initiative is designed to improved our knowledge and understand of Number Portability.

The Turks and Caicos Telecommunications Commission was established in 2004, through the enactment of the Telecommunications Ordinance 2004.
To ensure that all business and consumers in the country have access to reliable state-of-the-art telecommunications services at reasonable rates
Commissioners are appointed by the Ministry responsible for Telecommunications, acting with the approval of H.E. The Governor.
The Commission is committed to maintaining a healthy, competitive market for telecommunications services in Turks and Caicos Islands, as the best mechanism for motivating innovation and competitive pricing of services.

WELCOME TO THE TCI TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
We are responsible for regulating the telecom operators in Turks & Caicos Islands making sure that we have effective and fair competition that will benefit consumers. We also ensure that rates, conditions and quality of the services provided to consumers are reasonable, bearing in mind that the operators are private businesses with a right to a fair profit on their investments. We are also responsible for managing the radio waves and the use of the radio spectrum by the cellular operators, radio and television stations, private radio systems used by businesses and industry etc., making sure that the users do not interfere with the radio frequencies assigned to others.
When there are disputes between service providers about serving a particular area, the Commission has the authority to consider the effect on the customers of each service provider and to determine which service provider should serve in that area. The Commission also establishes service standards which regulated service provider must meet
